Summary of 2014 Chicagoland Safety, Health and Environmental Conference
Posted on by Ira McCray
The 2014 Chicagoland Safety, Health and Environmental Conference, held at the NIU Naperville Campus on September 22 thru 24, 2014, was extremely successful. Total number of individuals attending the conference remained consistent with 2013. The total number of attendees exceeded 325 this year. However, attendees signed up for more sessions and days at the conference. We believe that the reason was the quality of the speakers and sessions offered. All this is reflected in the increased total revenues generated. The increased revenues, along with effective cost controls, will allow for the five financial partners in the conference to receive checks of approximately $4,400.00 each.
The five financial partners include the three local ASSE chapters (NEIL, Greater Chicago, Three Rivers), the local Chicago chapter of the AIHA, and the Chicago chapter of the AHMP. The chapter money is typically used to promote EHS within the chapter, student chapter, industry and community.
We look to continue to look to grow the conference in 2015 with offering quality topics and speakers. The steering committee begins its work on the 2015 conference in January, 2015. The committee is always looking for volunteers. Look for the meeting notice in the chapter’s upcoming newsletter.
