Project Geologist

Brownfield Environmental Engineering Resources, LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Project
Geologist to join their growing team in Beloit, WI. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone
with a PE or PG license and 5-7 years of relevant environmental consulting experience. The Project
Geologist will lead complex site assessments, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical execution
across a range of projects including Phase I/II ESAs, asbestos oversight, environmental permitting, and
waste management. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of a dynamic firm, work
closely with senior leadership, and make a tangible impact on high-visibility projects across the Midwest.

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications:
• Professional Licensure: PE (Professional Engineer) strongly preferred; PG (Professional Geologist)
acceptable.
• Experience: 5–7 years of environmental consulting experience specific to the Midwest,
including:
• Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
• Asbestos sampling, testing, and abatement oversight
• Waste disposal and contaminated soil/groundwater management
• Underground storage tank evaluation
• Environmental permitting (air permits, stormwater)
• Leadership Experience: Must have led teams before.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (15–20 total,
4–5 led independently).
• “Doer” Mentality: Willing and able to be hands-on in the field (~60–70% of time).
• Proactive Problem Solver: Able to think critically, challenge norms constructively, and improve
processes.
• Cultural Fit: Positive attitude, resourceful, and eager to mentor younger staff.
• Onsite Presence: Willing to work primarily in-office in Beloit, WI, with travel localized to within
~1.5 hours.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proposal Writing: Experience writing technical proposals (no sales responsibility).
• Relocation Willingness: Open to candidates relocating, with relocation assistance available.
• Familiarity with Midwest environmental regulatory bodies: Especially helpful if coming from a
competitor in the region.

The following are detailed performance objectives for this role. When measuring overall aptitude and
cultural fit, all candidates will be benchmarked using these standards.

Performance Objectives
• Independently Complete a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Conduct and deliver a full Phase I ESA with minimal oversight, demonstrating working knowledge of regulatory requirements and internal reporting standards.
• Lead Technical Execution of a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment. Take 80% ownership of a Phase II project including planning, field execution, data interpretation, and reporting while coordinating with internal team members and guiding junior staff in field support roles.
• Establish Leadership Presence Across the Team, Build credibility with peers and junior staff by taking initiative in project coordination, mentoring entry-level employees, and actively supporting scheduling, field training, and proposal collaboration with existing project managers.
