Romeoville Fire Academy

AHMP Chicagoland is hosting a tour and discussion of the programs offered at the Romeoville Fire Academy. This academy is a specialized training center for the Chicago area, offering a wide range of technical courses related to hazardous materials management, rescue and emergency management. Among the many training programs offered are hazardous materials technician training, fire rescue operations, confined space training, CPR and EMS.

We will start at the Romeoville Firehouse, 698 Birch Ave, Romeoville, IL to enjoy dinner and a presentation covering the Academy’s programs. Then we will travel to the Romeoville Academy training center (1 mile away) at 1328 Enterprise Dr. to see the training facility and review what is involved with getting individuals the proper training based on their course selection. Dress comfortably – if there is time, we may be able to try on level 1 PPE, SCBA, etc. to feel first hand what it is like to perform rescue operations carrying 50+ extra pounds of PPE equipment!
